KSAN 1450, San Francisco Tuff Tunes Music Survey July 1, 1963
Here come "The Tuff Tunes On The Hot Spot" for the first
week of July 1963, straight from KSAN (1450 AM) in San Francisco, with
Little Stevie Wonder's "Fingertips" at the top of the chart. Two other
all-time R&B classics, Marvin Gaye's "Pride and Joy" and Doris Troy's
"Just One Look," fill the second and third slots.
The first-class KSAN radiomen at this point in time
include Mike Dix, working under the guise of Jumpin' George after the
station won the right to keep George Oxford from using the moniker in a
contentious lawsuit with rival KDIA. Rounding out the crew are Chuck
"Bugs" Scruggs, Herb Campbell (a/k/a Bert Bell) and Rockin' Lucky.
