91 KNEW/Metromedia
Oakland Raiders Radio Network
1967
Bill King (1928-2005) was in the second year of his
reign as the voice of the AFL's Oakland Raiders, a position he would
continue to hold until 1992. His partner in the broadcast booth on KNEW
91 was Van Amburg, who would later go on to be a noted television
newscaster at KGO-TV (Channel 7). The executive producer of Raider radio
on the Metromedia network was KNEW sports director Barney Lee.
