This print ad, dating from about 1960, includes the
stellar staff of KSFO — flagship station of the San Francisco 49ers — in
full football gear. Pictured are Del Courtney, Don Sherwood, Jack
Carney, Jim Lange, Herb Kennedy and Al Collins. The text reads:
WHEN IN DOUBT ... PUNT!
But for scatback entertainment, a powerhouse line and music reception
that never misses ... kick off with Sherwood every morning and run
with the greatest team of personalities on Radio today ... 560 is the
number of the play ... KSFO is the signal ... So hike that dial to....
